My Story

I began teaching in 1991 and coaching in 1996 and have taught English, modern world cultures, health, PE, athletics, and math…all at the middle school level (with a year of kindergarten, 1st, and 3rd grade PE mixed in for ’24-’25). I have coached volleyball, basketball, track, and soccer. My husband, Kevin, and I met at Baylor and were married in Waco in 1991 just before graduation. Braden, our only child, was born in 2004. We enjoy travel and have appreciated the time our teaching careers have given us to do so. I loved going on mission trips to Guatemala, Ethiopia & Uganda, and Zambia. Locally, I coordinate our hospitality area at our church, Heights CC.

What church do you attend?

Heights Community Church in San Antonio

What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at SACS?

I am very excited about my role as athletic coordinator (doing all the things) and coach (my middle-schooler connection) here at SACS. While everyone could tell I was a Christian in my 33 years in public education, and while I had specific opportunities to show Christ’s love, I’m excited to be in a place where it is actually expected and there is no job risk involved. Being at SACS gives me another place to grow my faith.

What sport(s) do you coach?

7th & 8th grade Volleyball and Basketball

Favorite Bible verse

Romans 8:31 – “What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” NKJV

What are your hobbies and interests?

I enjoy all kinds of travel and the learning that comes along with it. I’m a runner ready to get back into marathon shape. Officially empty nesters as of December 2025, I’m glad I love spending time with my husband.
