My Story
I grew up in Alabama in a family of educators (my mom taught elementary school math and my grandfather was a teacher and coach), so it was inevitable that I became a teacher! My wife Becky and I are both teachers and moved to San Antonio in 2000 to teach at Reagan High School. We have three kids: Bethany graduated from A&M and is the children’s director at Austin Ridge Bible Church, Zac is a graduate of SACS and Baylor and is the preteen coordinator and assists with youth at Renew Church in Waco, and Jackson is at A&M studying engineering. I’m looking forward to transitioning from public school (spending 25+ years teaching English and speech) to teaching 8th grade Bible.

What do you love most about teaching, coaching, or working at SACS?
I am really looking forward to working at a place that values biblical values and putting God first in the lives of our young people. I hope that I can help guide the 8th grade students in a way that will make them love to learn God’s Word. I want to help establish in the students a way to see the world through a biblical worldview in a ever increasing world that seems hostile to biblical truths.
Favorite Bible verse
Proverbs 3:5-6 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him and he will make straight your paths.”
What are your hobbies and interests?
I love dogs and enjoy working with Canines for Christ. I love working with my hands (amateur carpentry and home improvements) and traveling with my family. In addition, I enjoy Christmas lights and Alabama sports.
