As a parent, you want the best experience possible for your child during the pivotal middle school years.
Middle School can be a challenging time. Academic expectations are higher, and students are learning how to navigate relationships as they enter a new season of independence. It is important for your child to be in a healthy environment that supports and encourages their God-given gifts and interests.
At San Antonio Christian School, our middle school program is more than just a transition between elementary and high school. We offer an academically challenging curriculum within an encouraging community, preparing our students for high school and beyond.
Below, you will find a brief overview of what we offer, including information about our:

School Culture
“We treasure that our kids’ hearts, souls, and futures are considered in every decision that is made and that SACS is a community where the success of all of our kids is defined by so much more than just a grade. A Christ-centered education has given our kids the most important foundation for building their lives.”
THE Hicks FAMILY

At SACS, students enjoy challenging academics infused with a biblical worldview, helping students understand how God’s truth applies to their academic journey.
Core Requirements
Bible class is a core subject at SACS. We also offer a dedicated biblical worldview class, in 8th grade, to deepen students’ understanding of how faith intersects with all areas of life. Beyond traditional core classes, we offer Latin, logic, speech, and personal finance, ensuring a well-rounded education.
Dynamic Electives
Students can engage in unique electives like caring for exotic creatures in Animal Care, learning money management in Business 101, and mastering grilling and survival skills in BBQ and Outdoor Living. They can also explore the histories of ancient Greece, Rome, and the Vikings. All Middle School students participate in “Managing the Middle,” an elective that builds organization, time management, and study skills.
Arts Ownership
Students can explore their creativity through theater, band, and visual arts. Middle school theater is entirely student-run, offering hands-on experience in production, lighting, and sound. Band students perform in concerts while exploring various instruments, and art classes foster creativity through painting, drawing, ceramics, and digital art.
Caring Faculty/Staff
Our dedicated faculty and staff create an environment where students feel valued and encouraged. They provide personalized guidance by understanding each student’s strengths and challenges. Over 70% of our teachers participate in campus activities, fostering deeper mentorship relationships with students.
Middle school at San Antonio Christian School is designed to meet students where they are during one of the most important stages of development. Our teachers genuinely love this age group and bring both academic rigor and Christ-centered mentorship to every classroom, helping students build confidence, take ownership of their growth, and develop a biblical worldview that shapes how they see the world.
Beyond academics, students can get involved in Student Life, Athletics, and Fine Arts programs that extend learning and community well outside the classroom.
Middle school at SACS is intentionally designed with high school in mind. Students build the critical thinking, organization, and study skills they will need to meet higher academic expectations, while also developing the personal responsibility, leadership habits, and social skills that carry them well beyond the classroom. Faith formation, extracurricular involvement, service opportunities, and meaningful peer relationships round out the experience, so students arrive at high school confident, connected, and ready.

Middle school at SACS offers more than academics. Students can explore electives like science explorations, 2D animation, Python programming, BBQ, and Culture and Cooking Around the World. Each grade also brings its own distinctive opportunities, with Latin in 6th grade, Logic and Personal Finance in 7th grade, and high school level Foreign Language or Speech and Debate available in 8th grade. Fine arts options include band, theater, and art, and our athletics program covers football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and more. With new experiences around every corner, students discover interests they never knew they had, build meaningful friendships, and develop character along the way.

Middle school is a season of real growth, and SACS is intentionally built to support students through every aspect of that journey. Teachers know their students personally, not just academically, and intentionally invest in their character and spiritual development. Students also benefit from a dedicated school counselor, weekly chapel, retreats, and huddle groups that provide consistent community and a space to grow together. We believe the partnership between home, church, and school is essential, and we work hard to keep that connection strong through regular communication and teachers who make themselves available to families and students alike.
Yes, and intentionally so. Our curriculum is designed to prepare students for high school success through active, engaged learning environments and a growing emphasis on independent thinking. Students are challenged to think critically, solve problems creatively, and apply what they know through the lens of a biblical worldview. For students ready to go further, honors opportunities are available in English and History, math pathways range from on-level 6th grade math through high school geometry, and 8th graders can take high school level Foreign Language, Speech and Debate, or Art.
The middle school years are too important to leave to chance. If you are not intentionally discipling your children, the world will. A private Christian education gives students the academic rigor they need alongside the faith formation and character development that shape who they are becoming. At SACS, biblical truth is woven into every subject, and teachers are invested in the long view, raising up the next generation of Christian men and women, parents, leaders, and difference-makers who carry their faith into every corner of life and the world.
We would love to show you what that looks like in person. Schedule a tour to experience our community firsthand.
