Mr. Rusty Sugg received his BS in Ed from Southwest Texas State University majoring in Guidance and receiving lifetime teaching certification in secondary school English. He received his MA in Biblical Counseling from the International School of Theology (Arrowhead Springs, CA). He ministered on the pastoral staff of a local San Antonio church for five years before coming to SACS in 1990. While here, he has additionally earned lifetime certifications from ACSI in Bible and Secondary School Principal.
Middle School Principal
Mrs. Catherine Sheats graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University where she studied History and Secondary Education. She expanded her education by enrolling into Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and earned her Masters in Religious Education. Catherine then attended Liberty University to receive her Masters in Education.
Prior to coming to SACS in 2015, Catherine taught 7th grade Geography and was an Upper School Administrator at Covenant Academy in Macon, GA (where she focused on classical education).
Catherine has a passion for curriculum and the formation of students throughout the K-12 structure.
Fun Fact: Catherine is an avid reader!
High School Principal
Mr. Jason Buck graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a degree in Sports Management. He continued his education by becoming a certified teacher through LeTourneau University. After teaching for a decade, Jason pursued his Masters degree in Administration and Supervision from Liberty University, followed by his Texas Principal Certification.
Today, Jason is our Middle School Vice Principal and Secondary Athletic Director. He has been at SACS since 2002 and has worn many hats during his time on campus. Jason is married to his wife Rachel and has two children (Baker and Beckett).
Fun Fact: Jason played college soccer at UIW!
Mrs. Cheryl Womack graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in Elementary Education. Cheryl is furthering her education by pursuing her Masters degree in Education Administration Supervision at Liberty University.
Cheryl taught 3rd grade for two years and 2nd grade for three years. She then stayed home to raise her two children. After they both enrolled into school, Cheryl resumed her teaching career at SACS. After spending some time heavily involved with our school, Cheryl became the Elementary Director in 2019.
Fun Fact: Cheryl loves New Mexican green and red chili!
Interim Enrollment Management Director
Jennifer Rodriguez studied Marketing at St. Mary's University. She is a mom to three children, two of which currently attend SACS Elementary. She volunteers in the children's ministry of their family church. Prior to SACS, she worked as a Senior Insurance Advisor for a fortune 100 Company when she felt God's calling for her to be where her kids attend school. Best move ever!
Jennifer began at SACS in the Fall of 2020 as Assistant Director of Admissions, and is currently the Interim Director of Enrollment Management.
Fun Fact: Jennifer loves being outdoors with her husband and three boys.
