Position 

The Athletic Coordinator directs the athletics program and activities, providing information, and serving as a resource to others; achieving defined objectives by planning, evaluating, developing, implementing, and maintaining services in compliance with established guidelines, and serving as a member of the leadership team. The Athletic Coordinator will oversee and supervise the hiring and managing of the school’s bussing program for all events and traveling needs. This person shall reflect the purpose of the school, which is to honor Christ at all times.


 

Essential Job Functions

  • Maintain accurate student and coaches’ files. Maintain accurate athletic inventory.
  • In cooperation with the Athletic Director, provide input regarding the athletic calendar, personnel, and athletics handbook.
  • Assist with purchasing and ordering. Maintain athletic mailboxes.
  • Keep an account of teams and individual marks that will serve as school records. Handle all correspondence pertaining to athletics in a positive manner. Respond in a timely fashion to parent complaints, questions, and requests.
  • Keep updated calendars of school events, field trips, game schedules, maps, and activities, including appointments of administrators and teachers.
  • Help maintain proper filling and collection of forms and paperwork. Help maintain proper records of Athletic finances/budget.
  • Coordinate with other league directors to schedule athletic games, events, activities, trips, camps, tournaments, and other programs. Communicate with other schools and the state athletic association regarding schedules.
  • Coordinate all athletic events that take place on school grounds, including securing officials, providing appropriate supervisory personnel, ticket and concession sales, setup and tear down of facilities, etc. Delegate other responsibilities to coaches.
  • Serve as host to visiting teams, acting as a liaison in regards to accommodations and facilities.
  • Make arrangements for transportation and lodging for away events and notify parents of the plans. Ensure all drivers have appropriate licenses and insurance; enforce safety procedures.
  • Announcement of athletic accomplishments and awards via the school newsletter and websites, the SA newspaper, etc. to coaches.
  • Confirm/monitor athletic eligibility information for all student-athletes, and communicate information to coaches, parents, and students.
  • Consistently implement school policies and the schools’ mission, as well as state and national athletics organizational policies.
  • Assist with the annual end-of-year inventory of uniforms, furniture, equipment, and other items in the athletics department.

Professional Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Administration or Management preferred.

  • Must have at least 5 years in administrative or supervisor duties.

  • PC proficient with knowledge of standard software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. General working knowledge of spreadsheet software and database entry, e-mail, and working knowledge of the Internet.

  • Be willing to participate in continuing education opportunities that will increase proficiency and job skills.

  • Have reliable transportation to and from work.

  • Be at least 23 years of age and pass a criminal background check.
